The Longest Day Swim 2024

‘Swim the Corrib – County to City’

On 22nd June 2024, Galway Swimming Club  is proud to be hosting the Longest Day Swim 2024. This charity river swim gives participants the chance to swim down the fabulous River Corrib, passing many of Galway’s favourite landmarks including the University of Galway, Menlo Castle, Steamboat Quay and swimming under the Quincentennial Bridge. This is a not to be missed opportunity to see Galway from a unique perspective!

The inaugural running of the event was in 2019, since when it has steadily grown and is now a key race on the Galway Open Water Swimming Calendar. With previous competitors including Ex-US Olympic swimmers Gunnar Bentz, Peter Vanderkaay and Davis Tarwater, the event has earned praise for its charity support and welcoming atmosphere!

The Event:

The Longest Day Swim is a timed, open water river swim for over 18’s which attracts all standards of open water swimmers and triathletes: from fun swimmers to elite athletes, all are welcome!!
