Rita Ann Higgins in conversation with Elaine Feeney

We are excited to welcome award-winning Galway poet Rita Ann Higgins at Kennys Bookshop for a launch event on Thursday, August 29th at 6pm. Rita Ann will be joined in conversation by acclaimed Irish author Elaine Feeney about her new poetry collection, The Long Weekend.

The event will take place at 6pm and is a free but ticketed event.

Rita Ann Higgins has published 11 books of poetry poetry including Throw in the Vowels, Ireland is Changing Mother and Tongulish. During the pandemic her poetry became a national salve when it was read live on radio from RTÉ’s Brendan O’Connor Show. This collection of poetry, containing the bank holiday poems heard on the show and many others, sets a tone for all seasons. The Long Weekend leaves no question that Rita Ann Higgins is the people’s poet.
