Eoghan Daltun in conversation at Kennys Bookshop

Rewilding expert Eoghan Daltun will be at Kennys Bookshop on September 25th at 6pm to talk about his new book, The Magic of an Irish Rainforest: A Visual Journey.

Eoghan Daltun is a conservator of sculpture and a sculptor in stone, known for his work in, and advocacy for rewilding. His first book, An Irish Atlantic Rainforest: A Personal Journey into the Magic of Rewilding won an An Post Irish Book Award in 2022. In 2023 he travelled the length and breadth of Ireland photographing areas of temperate rainforest, in a bid to illustrate their beauty and ecological value, and to document, in almost all cases, their state of decline.

The resulting collection of images, combined with illuminating nature writing, charts that exploration, beginning with the author’s own wild rainforest on the Beara Peninsula, West Cork, and taking us through the four provinces of Ireland.

Tickets: €5 each (can be redeemed against a copy of the book in Kennys on the event night)
