CELT Open Day, Native Woodland promotion

A fun interactive day for all the family – come join the community of others deeply passionate about promoting, enjoying and sustaining our precious Woodlands.

@11am ~ An Introduction to Agroforestry – Looking at the Multiple Benefits for Farmers and Smallholders.

w/ Andrew St Ledger, Native Woodland Specialist with CELT and The Woodland League.

@ 12 pm ~ ‘Why Plant Native Riparian Woodlands – Benefits From A Farming, Forestry and Societal Level’

w/ Ruairí Ó Conchúir , a River Restoration Specialist.

(particularly suited to land owners, farmers, and anyone interested in the continuation and expansion of Native Woodlands)

 

✵ Hosted Walks

@10am – 1pm ~Forest Bathing w/ Sky Buitenhuis (booking recommended!)

@2.15 – 4.45 ~ Wild foraging walk w/ Olwyn Williams

@2.15 ~ 4 ~ Ancient Woodland Walk, Brehon Law and Ogham  w/ Andrew St Ledger

@ 3.30 – 5 ~ Medieval Roundhouse Visit w/ Julius Brummelmann

 

✵ Forest School @11am for ages 5 to 11yo, w/ Marion of Crann Óg (booking recommended!)

✵ Bushcraft Skills Demo @ 2.15 w/ Dylan van Leeuwan

 

✵ vegetarian lunch provided by the organic Kitchen of Slieve Aughty Centre.

✵Special Screening of “Call of the Forest: The Forgotten Wisdom of Trees” @ 5pm
